Right paratracheal air cyst (tracheal diverticulum).

چکیده
Paratracheal air cysts are collections of air adjacent to the trachea. These lesions are usually an incidental finding at routine chest computed tomography (CT) scan, and their frequency is probably underestimated, because almost all patients are asymptomatic.1 Differential diagnosis of paratracheal air cysts includes tracheal diverticulum, pharyngocele, laryngocele, Zenker diverticulum, apical lung hernia, blebs and bulla, and pneumomediastinum.1-4 We present here a case of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) with incidental finding of a large tracheal diverticulum.

متن کاملTracheal Diverticulum: A Unique Case with Intraoperative Morphologic Assessment
There are rare case reports of tracheal diverticula or paratracheal air cysts. These cases, however, were reported mostly as incidental sonographic or radiologic findings without histologic confirmation. Furthermore, the handful of studies that describe this entity histopathologically report only cases in patients with prior respiratory symptoms. Here, we report a rare case of an asymptomatic 6...
متن کاملOverlooked diagnosis of infected paratracheal air cysts in patients with respiratory symptoms
RATIONALE Infected paratracheal air cysts as the focus of respiratory symptoms can be overlooked in practice because of nonspecific symptoms and physician's scant knowledge for this entity. We report 2 cases of infected paratracheal air cyst diagnosed at chest computed tomography (CT) and bronchoscopy/endobronchial ultrasound. PATIENT CONCERN Two patients visited our hospital with respiratory...
متن کاملTracheal diverticulum in an asymptomatic male: a case report
INTRODUCTION An air filled lesion can be a diagnostic dilemma and a careful investigation must be following to clarity any underlining pathology. CASE PRESENTATION A 62-year old male, ex smoker, with a history of chronic cough was examined with helical CT tomography and an air filled lesion was demonstrated at the right paratracheal region at the thoracic inlet. A narrow connection to trachea...
متن کاملTracheal Diverticulum Following Paratracheal Hypofractionated Radiotherapy in the Setting of Prior and Subsequent Bevacizumab.
We present the case of a 63-year-old woman with limited metastatic colorectal cancer to the lungs and liver treated with FOLFIRI-bevacizumab, followed by consolidative hypofractionated radiotherapy to right paratracheal metastatic lymphadenopathy. We treated the right paratracheal site with 60 Gy in 15 fractions (70 Gy equivalent dose in 2 Gy fractions). The patient tolerated the treatment well...
